Take A Tour Be A Part Of The Music Travels
Summertime festivals can not only be a break from monotony of summer, but they can also introduce you to local talent and entertainment. Northeastern Oklahoma has plenty of natural habitat perfect for summer fun- mountains and lakes galore! Not to mention Tulsa"s thriving community and artistic venues. However, there are also several hometown festivals going on that promise an unique and memorable time. You can find yourself eating a ten foot pecan pie, watching a national fiddling competition, or even enjoying some great-tasting Cajun music- all in one corner of Oklahoma! Below are just a few of Northeastern Oklahoma"s summer time festivals.
The festival will start at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday and will last for most of the day. There will be a long lineup of live bands, as well as a live radio broadcast from the top comedy talk radio shows on iTunes, Red Bar Radio and Wreckless Media Radio. Those who attend will have a chance to get on the air.
If you enjoy music why not head for a bandshell or other outdoor festival wristbands. If you love to dance you could hit the local clubs, or find a band or artist around the town that you haven"t yet heard. Many restaurants also offer entertainment in their bar areas. Change the music that you listen to, get out and experience many different types of music; jazz, blues, long-hair, big band, singer-songerwriter, pop, rock....keep it interesting.
Gold parties allow you spend some time with your friends, coworkers or neighbors, while a professional gold buyer evaluates your items and makes you a cash offer. Most are set up as a open house, drop by event wristbands. Folks come and go over a several hours and the host or hostess gets paid a percentage for holding the party. Talk about easy money.
Kick off fall and bid farewell to summer at an outdoor festival. The Labor Day Spectacular at Wintergreen Resort includes an arts and craft show, live music and more. The Taste of the Mountains Main Street Festival in Madison offers old-fashioned family fun for all ages.
Some hosts like to have some type of token and cashiering system, so each contributor gets one token per item that they may then use to "buy" their selections. Displaying the items can be as simple or fancy as you want it to be. Some set up tables, ladders, and racks to set items on. Others just drape them over whatever is handy. When swapping clothes it is important to have a dressing room and mirror sport wristbands available for attendees.
A Perfect Getaway: Rated R for graphic violence, language including sexual references and some drug use. An action-thriller pitting newlyweds Steve Zahn and Mila Jovovich against a pair of threatening hikers played by Kiele Sanchez and Timothy Olyphant.
True to it"s name, the bar is a few hundred feet west of South Broadway Street. Crime can be thick in this part of St. Louis, so be observant and don"t flash wads of cash to random dudes hangin" out in alleys. My first introduction to the venue was when a friend informed me she had been robbed walking from her car into the bar. Her sob story had a positive twist though, because the bartenders at Off Broadway fed her free drinks all night!
CHANGSHA - China aims to build a scientific research station in the south polar region of the moon and realize manned lunar exploration mission in about ten years, said a senior space official on Wednesday.
Zhang Kejian, head of the China National Space Administration, made the remarks at the opening ceremony of China"s Space Day in Changsha, capital of central China"s Hunan Province.
China will launch the Chang"e-5 lunar probe to collect and return lunar samples back to Earth at the end of 2019, Zhang said.
Shaoshan, the hometown of China"s late leader Mao Zedong, will be one of the permanent storage centers of the lunar samples, Zhang said.
He also mentioned in his speech that China plans to launch its first probe to explore Mars in 2020.
China joined the space club on April 24, 1970, when the Long March-1 carrier rocket launched the country"s first satellite, Dongfanghong-1, into orbit.
Since 2016, China has set April 24 as the country"s Space Day. The various activities on Space Day have become a window for the Chinese public and the world to get a better understanding of China"s aerospace progress.
The theme of this year"s activities is to "pursue space dreams for win-win cooperation."
